River Road Ride Video

A bit of a breezy day, but incredibly sunny and gorgeous Sunday. I’ve now done this route in every season and finally got some snow that wasn’t a giant slush-fest. I know I’ve said it before, but if you’re looking for a ride while visiting NYC, you could do worse than this one.

Just cross over the GWB (I think the ramp is at 176th street, I’ve never really looked at the number), and instead of turning right at the end, turn left and follow the path down the hill to the start of River Road. It’s a very scenic and beautiful ride the ends with a nice, tough hill before putting you back on 9W to continue right on to Piermont or Nyack. It took me about 40 minutes to ride it today – I wanted to film it for some raw roller-ready footage with this week of crap weather coming up – and this is the highlight reel.

I also uploaded the ascent of Alpine Hill. Well, most of it. To do the full climb, you have to veer off the road and head down to the river to start at the very bottom. I didn’t do that, and even without it, it’s a nine minute video. It’s here, if you’re curious.

Hey Kit, it’s a GoPro HD Hero. I plan on doing a bit of a review video on it shortly, as it’s one of the cameras I’ll be using on the tour.
