yesiamprecious.com photos
Each day on my ride across America, I would upload a photograph which would become the background of the Yes, I am Precious site. I had a few requests to put those photos somewhere, so they’re over on flickr if you want one in high res. I cobbled this video together just for fun, and set it to Tombstone Blues, my favorite Bob Dylan song of all time. It’s weird to think that these photos are taken just one day apart – this country truly changes from day to day, sometimes very dramatically. This is a compilation of those photographs in the order they were taken.
In other news, I’m currently working on writing blog posts for the rest of the trip, but I want to get at least three in the chamber before starting to post them. That way I’ll be a bit out in front of the whole thing, and hopefully able to do one a day to keep the flow going. It’s an exercise which I hope will help me pull all the material for the book together, and I hope I haven’t lost you all by taking so long to catch up!
I’m actually quite excited to get cracking on the book though. Finally, a goal in life. haha.
Ride on!

Ride on indeed, or maybe Write On!
I’ve enjoyed following your travels and also YesIAmPrecious… I look forward to reading more of your postings as they emerge. You are going to savor re-living the trip as you write. I have friend who rode cross country from Virginia to Astoria from May to the 1st week of August. When she first finished she told me “talk to me first before you decide to ride XC”. She was exhausted and not able to recommend the journey… a month later and she’s revelling in the trip, the road, the quiet, the beautiful sights, the mostly friendly people… the crazy dogs of West Virginia aren’t as prominent in her memory any more…
Happy you finished safe and strong, and I congratulate you!

Noodle,
Take your time. We had the updates from Precious to convince us that you hadn’t died. I missed the daily updates, but was glad to see the progress.
Well done.

Glad to hear that you’re going to make a book out of your posts. It may not be a bestseller, but I’m sure it’ll be a hit with everyone planning that trip (or daydreaming about it, like me).
Congrats on the finish AND the $$ raised. Well done.

What an incredible journey and awesome accomplishment something the most of us just dream about.
Having only ridden a week at a time, I know the feeling when you done, and your tired, but a few weeks later your planning the next adventure.
My offer to come to Brooklyn (the subway still runs there, right?) and treat you to that steak and beer of choice still stands!! I would love to hear about your trip.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
