Plans go Bong
I’m a fairly positive person. Except when I’m not. Each morning I wake up and my brain seems to have dragged itself back into a gloom and doom state. Bit of a drag. I shall now go look in the mirror and chant “Cheer up, Buttercup” five times at my reflection and see if I my spirits are raised or enraged.
This video was shot in gleeful sunshine on Friday. It is now Monday, which can only mean the cast is scheduled to come off today! That’s good news, though I have been warned that using my wrist will be painful, I will have no forearm, and the recovery will be slow. Bring on the Physical Therapy!
Oh, and cheer up, Buttercup.

Cheer up Buttercup. Noodle you are such an inspiration to me. It was because of your video on the “100 miles of Nowhere”, that I did that race this year. Sending you my prayers knowing all will be well with the insurance, your arm and a swift return to the bike.
Thinking of you!!!!! Cheer up Buttercup!

Cheer up Buttercup.
Glad to see you’re alright and still out there. Don’t worry, you’ll be on the your steed soon enough! š

You are amazing, you put yourself out there in the public so true, so honest, so darn huggable even if it is just a video. If you take the express route (to Santa Rosa) let me know and I make arrangements for you to stay in Woodland, CA. My son works in a bike shop near there (1 of 2 jobs) but it is his dream job. I’ve met his co-workers and a better group of people would be hard to find…they all love cycling. I’ll fly/drive or what ever to Woodland just to bike a few miles with you.
Fat Chick on a Bike
Last Friday my biking buddy and I were getting in a quick out-and-back 15 on the Katy (MO) before work. Encountered a pair of buff ladies just cooking along with front and back panniers. Most Katy riders manage with one pannier set and maybe a handlebar bag, curious. Called out “where you headed?” they said “Oregon, from Norfolk VA”.
Tough luck on the crash, hope it’s you one day. If the restriction on the restart date is driven by weather, could you consider going West to East? Stays warmer and nice well into the fall from KS on east. Just a thought, if it might work out for you.
