On the Avenue of the Giants finally. The first 40 or so miles of this ride are relatively flat. Which means the majority of the almost 10,000ft elevation gain must come in the last 60 miles.

When riding the avenue on a bicycle, you turn you head and suddenly see things. I probably wouldn't driven right past this area, but when you're riding along, turn your head and see this, you stop.

I turned off the Avenue and went Bull Creek Road. Road was narrower, and less people drive this way I think, but it took my breath away.

LIE! I was lead to believe there would be gravel sections. If you were to add up all the 20ft sections of dirt I got, you would probably have about 100ft of gravel the whole 100 miles. I should've ridden my Ruby, but loved the day on Pumpkin.

It's a mile long climb, but it gets easier near the top of it. But still. HOT climbing once I got out of the fog.

After the wall is a super sketchy fast descent. Then begins the last climb of the day. Which goes for 8 miles. Here, I look back at part of it.
